About Laura Pettler & Associates
When the Truth Has Been Hidden…We Find It
Not every crime scene tells the truth.
Some are manipulated. Some are staged. And some are designed to mislead even experienced investigators.
At Laura Pettler & Associates, we specialize in uncovering what others miss, exposing crime scene staging, identifying false crime scene evidence, and revealing the truth behind complex and deceptive cases.
Whether it’s a suspected staged crime scene, a questionable suicide, or a cold case that no longer makes sense, our work is focused on one thing: getting to the truth, no matter how deeply it’s been buried.
Who We Are
Founded by Dr. Laura Pettler, Laura Pettler & Associates (LPA) is an internationally recognized leader in staged death investigation, forensic reconstruction methodology, and advanced forensic investigation.

What makes a homicide look like suicide?
What are the real signs of staged homicide?
Our mission is simple - Follow the evidence. Challenge assumptions. Deliver the truth.

Our Founder
Dr. Laura Pettler is a forensic criminologist, inventor, author, international educator, and crime scene staging expert. She has been named one of the world’s most influential women in forensics and is recognized for pioneering the study of staged homicide and shaping forensic investigation training. Her investigations and methodologies have influenced agencies nationwide, shaped training standards, and helped solve high-profile cases, including the Harold Gentry murder for hire case.
Her philosophy is simple: real cases deserve real solutions, rooted in science rather than speculation.
The evidence always tells the truth if you know how to read it.
Our Ethos: Victim-Centered. Evidence-Driven. Relentlessly Thorough.
Every case, class, and consultation at LPA is guided by four principles:
Honor the victim
Follow the evidence
Challenge flawed assumptions
Deliver truth with integrity
This is the foundation of the Murder Room Method and the reason agencies trust LPA to take on their toughest work.
