Introducing Pettler’s Mounted Forensic Response System
What is MFRS? Mounted Forensic Response System (MFRS)
MFRS is a science based civilian mounted operational framework that integrates internationally recognized mounted search and rescue standards, forensic science, and forensic psychology into one unified training and deployment model. The system is designed to develop mission ready horse and rider teams capable of operating in difficult terrain, rural environments, wilderness settings, disaster zones, and complex search operations where traditional access may be limited. Unlike traditional mounted programs that focus primarily on horsemanship or mobility, MFRS combines:
International mounted search and rescue standards
Human and horse operational readiness
Forensic science principles
Lost person behavior and forensic psychology
Evidence awareness and scene discipline
Scenario based operational training
Measurable competency progression
Civilian public safety integration
MFRS trains both the human and the horse as an operational partnership through a hybrid model of online education, in person instruction, scenario based exercises, environmental exposure, and real world deployment preparation. The goal of MFRS is not simply to teach people how to ride horses in search operations. The goal is to build structured, reliable, scientifically grounded mounted teams capable of supporting real world missions safely, effectively, and professionally.Core Principle: Two Partners. One Team. Human and horse are trained together, evaluated together, and deployed together within a repeatable operational framework built for real world response environments.
